Peel the Limelight is proud to present the award-winning and gut-wrenching play BENT by Martin Sherman at the Petralai Management Theatre of Chulalongkorn Business School.

The play will run 23rd, 24th, 30th and 31st of May at 19:30hrs with late afternoon matinee performances on 24th & 31st May at 16:00hrs. All performances are in English with Thai surtitles. Tickets are available from 25th April via www.peelthelimelight.com.

BENT was written in 1978 and premiered in London and New York to critical acclaim. BENT deals with persecution, discrimination and alienation but most of all love. It is set against the backdrop of the Night of Long Knives in 1934 Berlin and the subsequent incarceration of its characters into the recently opened Dachau Concentration Camp. It is the end of the decadent years of Berlin and the beginning of the dark days of the Holocaust. The play addresses the responsibility of self - the concepts of autonomy, survival and ultimately transcendence or even liberation.

Between 1933 and 1945 approximately 100,000 homosexuals were arrested. BENT tells the story of a few of them.
