How Many Roads?

A Picture and story-telling evening with 3 young travellers from Latvia, Europe on their way to Pitt Island, New Zealand.

Almost a year ago, on September 15th 2014 Dainis, Laura and Ivars set out on a journey to reach the furthest inhabited place from their homes – for Latvians, it is the remote Pitt Island in New Zealand. It is located 18000km away from Latvia as the bird flies, so – on the other side of the globe.

They are using their bicycles as the main means of transportation, additionally public transport but avoiding to use airplanes as long as there is another way. So far, they have gone overland all across Asia and have reached Bangkok – 7900km away from the capital of Latvia.

Of course, on a journey of this measure and duration, a lot of adventures and unexpected turns have happened on the way. On 11th August 2015, in CHOMP! they will tell about how has it been do far and why did they decide to do such a thing in the first place – why would anyone do something like this. The story will be accompanies by pictures from their travel through 12 countries and short videos made on the way.

P.S. Traveling for such a long time does not necessarily cost a lot of money, actually, it can cost less than simply living your everyday life in Bangkok. Still, savings made before the trip, have been depleted and as travellers have no source of income, there will also be a crowdfunding box in the event for anyone who wants to support them. Completely voluntary, of course and before that you will hear out on what they have to say about this themselves.

Meanwhile, you can check out their Facebook page:http://www.facebook.com/HMRoads
