While perhaps not as well-known as some of the famous shellfish waters of Europe and North America, the cool and clean intertidal beds off New Zealand’s coastline produce what are among the world’s finest mussels. 

The SQUARE at Novotel Bangkok Ploenchit Sukhumvit now highlights this southern-hemisphere delicacy with its ‘New Zealand mussel’s festival. Although their shell is in fact a deep, dark green, New Zealand mussels can indeed transform any dish as if by culinary magic.
