A panel discussion

Members: free, Non-members 450thb, Thai journalists and Students with VALID ID: 150thb

Since the establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015, improving the quality of education has been one of its goals. Major investments have been made towards improving the quality of instruction, student mobility and strengthening university networking among member states. But how effective have these investments been? What is the state of higher education in ASEAN? And where are the students actually choosing to go for their education and why? Join us for a distinguished panel on a critical issue :

- Associate Professor Nantana Gajaseni, AUN Executive Director, ASEAN University Network Secretariat since May 2009. With knowledge, leadership and experiences gained throughout her previous posts as Deputy Executive Director of AUN Secretariat and the Co-Director of the ASEAN-EU University Network Programme (AUNP), Dr. Gajaseni has become a proficient practitioner in higher education cooperation.

- Professor James Gomez, Ph.D., Asia Centre Founding Director and Bangkok University Professor, is presently Professor of Communications and Associate Dean (International Affairs) at the School of Communication Arts, Bangkok University, Thailand. He previously served as Deputy Associate Dean (International) and Head of Public Relations at Monash University, Australia. He has also served as Head of School, Programme Director and Head of Department at various tertiary institutions across Asia.

- Mr. Wesley Teter, UNESCO Senior Consultant for the Asia and Pacific Regional Bureau for Education, consults with Member States in ASEAN and throughout Asia and the Pacific on the Regional Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications in Higher Education, as well as on National Qualifications Frameworks (NQF), governance of higher education, open data, Open Educational Resources, and more.
