Doc+Talk 2: Song Of Lahore

Airpay Wallet App., BACC and Documentary Club proudly present "DOC+TALK", a series of selected documentary by the Documentary Club with post-screening talk.
The second screening on Wednesday 31 August 2016 is "Song of Lahore" which examines the lives and the cultural heritage of Pakistan's classical musicians, and asks whether there is still room for them in a society roiled by social and religious upheaval. After toiling in obscurity for years, an innovative album leads Sachal Studios to international acclaim, and a triumphant concert with Wynton Marsalis and his orchestra at Jazz at Lincoln Center. This feature length documentary by Academy Award winning filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (Saving Face, A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness)and Andy Schocken.
The event will start with music show by "Baby Arabia" at 4 pm / film (English with Thai subtitles) at 4.15 pm / and post-screening talk at 6.00 pm (in Thai - "Politics, Music, Pakistan" by Ekraj Imran Sabur (Director of International Institute of Peace and Development Studies) and Panu Aree [Co-Director of "Baby Arabia" documentary])
