In Harold in Italy Berlioz conjures up his own wanderings in rustic Abruzzi, complete with misty landscapes, pilgrims and tolling bells, roving musicians and riotous brigands. American violist Jennifer Stumm is featured in this romantic all-but-concerto for viola. Spanish conductor José-Luis Novo then leads TPO in the most Romantic and melodic of symphonies – Rachmaninoff’s Symphony. No. 2
