Metamorphosis. Black Butterfly Photo exhibition by Olga Volodina

"Metamorphosis" is a multidisciplinary art project that includes photo exhibition, dance/theater performance and site specific light installation.

?oncept: This photo series is based on symbols and metaphors and represents the fragility of human consciousness, which is influenced by mass media and the hypocrisy of the modern society, which is too obsessed with consuming to notice being manipulated. Black and white colours are used to emphasize the edge between good and evil, that humanity is balancing on.
The bandages show our society’s sick priorities.The marks on the model’s body, resembling those made by cosmetic surgeons on the skin of their patients, represent the vain attempts of the ruling class to cover the ugly truth.
