Blooming Flowers
YenakArt Villa -
Blooming Flowers by Padungpong Saruno.
Blooming Flowers will be the first solo exhibition of a 26-year-old Thai artist, Padungpong Saruno. Seven of his latest oil paintings will be exhibited, most of them are large-scale (up to 200 cm x200 cm), realist, and colourful self-portraits. All of the paintings deal with the artist’s "Gender Identity Disorder”, which is, in his own words:
“The physical appearance, which is male, has restricted me to express the way I really feel deep inside. I choose to hide my own gender identity, although I feel more like myself when I express my delicate and feminine side".
But there is another world, says Padungpong Saruno, the world of Art where he can free himself from all the boundaries:
"Art allows me to be who I am".
About the artist:
Born in November 1990 in the Thai city of Satun. Padungpong Saruno graduated with bachelor's degree from the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture, and Graphic Arts in the Thai prestigious institution - Silpakorn University.
