The American-style vintage market is back again, by the pioneer of hip flea market and vintage lover community in Thailand - Made by Legacy.
In its fifth edition, Made by Legacy Flea Market is taking place at the parking lot of the State Railway of Thailand Head Office, Hua Lamphong, on January 10 - 11, 2015. The event will coincide with National Children's Day, so the theme is Children, with its definition extending to the young and the young at heart. Grown-ups can reminisce about their childhood at the stalls selling old school toys from the past and action heroes from the past decades.
Home decor stalls will also be present for the guests to check out rare vintage items. Another highlight is the food and drinks. Anyone who has come to the Made by Legacy market would already know now that the tasty treats here are one of a kind.
Made By Legacy is a collective of individuals who share great passion for all things vintage, from what they use in everyday life to their attitude. This group of people comes from all walks of life, connected together by their mutual interest.
MBL came up with an American-style flea market to serve as a social club or a community with its own distinctive character. The event also represents the identity and lifestyle of vintage culture, reflected through fashion, accessories, home décor, motoring, cycling, vintage photography, food and beverage and the greatest element of all – music. These hobbies draw various like-minded individuals together, from Bangkok and beyond, Thai or foreign.
The aim of MBL is to create a culture of living harmoniously with differences and respecting different opinions. It also strives to generate a discussion among the members, allowing them to exchange their views and better understand each other. More importantly, it aims to raise awareness about the glorious past, whether it is architecture or history. What makes MBL different is how it highlights moments in history and retells stories about vintage in an intriguing way.
Each edition of MBL has its own distinctive element. The first MBL was held on the rooftop of Sibunrueng Building, and the guests unanimously agreed that it was not unlike the atmosphere of the famed Brooklyn Flea Market in New York City.
The most favorite venue is the ground of the State Railway of Thailand, which is surrounded by buildings going as far back as the reign of King Rama V, save for the east side of the venue which is next to a railway frequented by trains leaving from and arriving at Hua Lamphong Station. Every element was exactly what Made By Legacy is all about.
From the previous MBL events, the network of vintage lovers grew and grew. They inspire each other and collaborate, and business opportunities were abound for those who want to do what they truly love. Today, it can be said that MBL has resulted in many other fairs, pop-up events and flea markets of the similar nature.
