Last year, Edward Snowden, an American IT specialist leaked files that revealed mass-surveillance programs undertaken by government agencies, US's National Security Agency (NSA) and its UK counterpart Government Communications Headquarter (GCHQ). Personal and private information stored by major US technological companies including global phone and internet networks were compromised. The revelations have raised concerns about growing domestic surveillance, the scale of global monitoring, and trustworthiness of the technological sector.

The Reading Room and Thai Netizen Network present a public talk and Q&A session, "FAQ: What and Why do we need to know about NSA spying?" with Matthew Rice, Advocacy Officer at Privacy International on the evening of Saturday March 8th, from 5-7pm.

Synopsis:
- Overview of global mass surveillance in the world and what's the world know now?
- How angry should we be about NSA spying?
- What it has and will affected us here and there?
- Are ordinary people outside USA communications included in the surveillance?
- What should we do?
